Otti Appoints Ex-NERC Boss Chairman Abia Advisory Council On Electricity

Abia State Governor Dr Alex Otti has appointed former chairman of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr Sam Amadi, as Chairman Abia Electricity Advisory Council.

Amadi, a policy strategist, law and governance expert, is the Director, Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts and a Visiting Professor at the Emerald Energy Institute, University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He was Associate Professor and head of the Department of International Law and Jurisprudence at Baze University, Abuja until June 2021. He was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies from 2016-2018.

He was also the pioneer Chairman and CEO of NERC 2010-2015.

His appointment was announced in a statement issued on Friday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, and made available to THE WHISTLER.

The statement reads: โ€œThe Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has approved the appointment of members of the Abia State Advisory Council on Electricity, as follows: Dr. Sam Amadi -Chairman; Engr. Ikechukwu Monday- Co-Chairman; Engr. Kachy Etolue -Secretary; Dr. Abdussalam Yusuf -Member; Engr. Vincent Ozuode -Member.

Others include: Engr. Tasiu Wudil -Member; Mr. Emeka Onyegbule -Member; Engr. David Eichie -Member; Dr. Joy Oti -Member, and Ivie Ehanmo -Member.โ€
