Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state Tuesday assured members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the state that they should feel safe throughout their service year in the state.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course at the NYSC temporary camp, Government College, Kaduna, the governor, represented by his Commissioner of Humanitarian Services and Development, Hajiyah Rabi Salisu, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a secure and enabling environment for corps members to contribute meaningfully to their host communities.
“I want to assure you that you are safe in any part of the state you are posted to serve. Government will continue to recognise and reward those of you who perform excellently at the end of the service year.”
He also urged the corps members to demonstrate patriotism and community service, noting that the primary goal of the NYSC is to foster unity among Nigeria’s diverse peoples.
“You must take your host community as your home and join in its development. Strive to sustain the good record of your predecessors,” he said.
In her remarks, the NYSC Kaduna state coordinator, Mrs. Agnes Dadaza, described the orientation course as a success, adding that the corps members showed enthusiasm and discipline throughout the three-week training. She advised them to carry the same spirit into their places of primary assignment.
“As soon as you get your posting letters, identify with your host community’s challenges and aspirations. I assure you, this will earn you goodwill and honour,” she said.
She urged corps members to obey all NYSC rules, including seeking permission before travelling and avoiding acts capable of tarnishing the scheme’s image.
