The Bayelsa State Government has repaired three dangerous potholes on the Ogbia-Nembe Road following a viral video that highlighted their condition on April 27, 2026.
The state ministry of works and infrastructure deployed Setraco the same day for emergency repairs, restoring safe passage for motorists and commuters on the route.
This was contained in a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr Moses Teibowei, on Monday.
PUNCH Online had earlier reported that the man, seen standing inside a deep pothole, lamented the poor state of the highway and appealed for immediate intervention.
According to the commissioner, the statement reads: “The Bayelsa State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has demonstrated its commitment to road safety by promptly repairing potholes on the Ogbia-Nembe Road following a distress video shared by a concerned resident.
“The ministry, upon receiving the video, which went viral on social media yesterday, April 27, 2026, immediately directed Setraco to carry out emergency remedial works on the three identified potholes.
“The repairs were successfully executed on the same day, ensuring motorists and commuters can once again enjoy a smoother and safer ride on the critical route.
“Let me assure Bayelsans and residents of the Prosperity Government’s unwavering dedication to the construction and continuous maintenance of roads and other vital infrastructure across the state, as the safety of lives and the comfort of our people remain top priorities.”
