FCCPC Urges Consumers to Report Housing Disputes

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has called on Nigerian consumers to promptly report any disputes or unfair practices in the housing and real estate sector.

The appeal comes amid ongoing enforcement actions by the commission, including the recent sealing of an estate in Abuja over allegations of undelivered housing units despite full payments by subscribers.

FCCPC officials emphasised that consumers should not hesitate to come forward with complaints whenever their rights are violated.

They also advised prospective homebuyers to remain vigilant, thoroughly verify claims made by developers, and ensure they are fully informed before entering into any property transactions.

The commission encouraged Nigerians to report unfair trade practices in the real estate sector, urging them to provide relevant details when filing complaints.

This is part of broader efforts to protect consumers and promote compliance among developers.Consumers can file complaints through the FCCPC’s official channels.
