The Federal Government has unveiled a new digital website for the Federal Character Commission (FCC) aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability in governance.
The website was launched on Tuesday in Abuja by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.It provides the public with real-time access to key information such as policies, recruitment guidelines, compliance reports, federal character indices, and official announcements.
Senator Akume described the initiative as a strategic milestone in promoting inclusive governance and equitable representation across Nigeria’s diverse population.He emphasized that the platform will enable data-driven decisions and strengthen public trust in government institutions.
The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was represented at the event, commended the launch as part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda focused on digital transformation and inclusive governance.
The Executive Chairman of the FCC, Mrs Hulayat Omidiran, said the website offers a unified, accessible, and user-friendly platform for citizens and government agencies to engage more effectively with the commission.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, also welcomed the development, describing it as a critical step toward strengthening transparency and accountability in public service.
The Federal Character Commission is constitutionally mandated to promote fair and balanced representation of all segments of the Nigerian society in public institutions.
The new digital platform is expected to serve as a central hub for information on federal character matters and compliance tracking.
