Fear has gripped parts of Adamawa State after a shocking incident left no fewer than 80 cows dead in one village.

The tragedy happened in Chafajaule, Ribadu District of Fufore Local Government Area, sending panic across the area and raising serious concerns.

Dr Bartholomew Nyalas, Director of Veterinary Services, confirmed the disturbing development. He revealed that the animals likely died after grazing on poisonous grasses believed to contain cyanide.

According to him, the dangerous grass, known as wild sorghum, usually appears after the first rainfall. When consumed in large amounts, it becomes deadly.
