The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Isolo Local Branch, has appointed Prince Quadri Oloyede Faronbi as Director of Culture, Arts and Tourism, in a move aimed at strengthening youth engagement and promoting cultural development in the community.
The appointment was announced on Tuesday during a formal ceremony attended by Community-Based Organisations (CBOs), Voluntary Youth Organisations (VYOs), youth leaders, and other stakeholders in Isolo.
Presenting the appointment, the Local Coordinator of NYCN Isolo, Comrade Damilola Kushimo, said Prince Faronbi’s selection was based on merit, dedication, and his commitment to youth development.
He noted that the new directorate members were expected to play key roles in supporting the council’s vision for youth empowerment and community progress.
“Your appointment is a reflection of your capabilities, dedication, and proven commitment to youth development,” Kushimo said.
“I charge you to approach this responsibility with diligence, integrity, and a clear sense of purpose. Join hands with the executive team in reshaping the narrative of our youths positively.”
He added, “Let your service reflect excellence, teamwork, and an unwavering passion for community advancement. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive, and progressive Isolo for all young people.”
Stakeholders at the event described Faronbi’s appointment as a strategic step toward advancing cultural promotion, preserving heritage, and opening up opportunities in arts and tourism for young people in the area.
Prince Faronbi, who also serves as Assistant Secretary General of Isolo Kingdom, is expected to drive initiatives that connect youth development with culture and tourism-based opportunities.
Speaking after his appointment, Faronbi thanked everyone and vowed to use the appointment to deepen collaboration between traditional institutions and youth-focused organisations in promoting community development.
With the new role, Faronbi noted that expectations are high, but he will definitely ensure strengthening cultural visibility, youth participation, and tourism development in Isolo and its environs.
