Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, visited Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan as part of his ongoing nationwide consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, which included notable South-East leaders, provided an opportunity for Obi and Governor Makinde to discuss critical national issues, including the state of Nigeria’s democracy, governance, development priorities, and the need for a more united, inclusive, secure, and economically viable country.
In a post on his X handle, Obi described the engagement as meaningful, noting that they exchanged views on responsible leadership and the urgent need to build a better future for all Nigerians.
He stressed that the consultations remain essential as he continues to listen, reflect, and work collectively with stakeholders across the country.
The visit to Ibadan is the latest in Obi’s series of strategic meetings with key political figures and leaders from different regions as political activities intensify towards 2027.
