Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has responded to social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, known as VDM, saying he will not engage in a public exchange of insults over the ongoing legal case involving businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika (BLORD).
Sowore made the statement after VDM appeared in court with Blord, where both men were seen shaking hands, suggesting they may have settled their differences.
VDM later criticized Sowore, accusing him of worsening the situation and treating the matter as a personal conflict.
In response, Sowore said his involvement in the case was only to protect Blord’s rights and ensure he got bail.
He explained that his lawyers were instructed to focus on that goal. According to him, recent developments in court have supported his position, including Blord’s release and reports that the judge stepped away from the case.
Sowore also said he is not bothered by threats against him, adding that he is willing to suffer consequences if it helps others.
He added that he will not argue with VDM publicly, saying it is not his style. Instead, he said he is more focused on the actions of the police, which he believes started the issue.
The dispute between VDM and Blord began after VDM accused the businessman of wrongdoing, including misuse of identity. The case later went to court, where Blord faced charges of impersonation, forgery, and conspiracy, which he denied.
VDM later accused Sowore of interfering after the activist called for Blord’s detention and supported his bail.
The case has now been reassigned after the judge stepped down, and it has been adjourned for further hearing.
