The All Progressives Congress (APC) Consensus Governorship Candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), has paid a courtesy visit to Senator (Prof.) Iyabo Obasanjo Bello at her residence in Abeokuta, in a move seen as strengthening party unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
Senator Obasanjo Bello, who was also a gubernatorial aspirant, was the first to publicly congratulate Senator Adeola following his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate, issuing a press statement in support of his candidacy.
The meeting, attended by her supporters and political associates, was opened by former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Alhaja Salmot Badru, who praised Obasanjo Bello’s longstanding contributions to governance and public service.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Adeola described the visit as a gesture of appreciation, noting that there was no need for reconciliation given her early and unwavering support.
He commended her performance as a former Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, stating that her record in office remains widely acknowledged and respected.
Senator Adeola also assured her and her supporters of an inclusive approach to both his campaign and governance, emphasizing that all stakeholders would be carried along.
“I am here to thank my sister and to assure her that we will work together. I am ready to align with her vision and ensure that, collectively, we take Ogun State to the next level,” he said.
He further pledged to integrate her ideas and policy contributions into his agenda, stressing that no individual or group would be sidelined.
The visit ended on a note of unity and renewed collaboration, with Senator Adeola reaffirming his commitment to inclusive leadership and sustained engagement with party members and stakeholders across the state.
