The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended workers, describing their contributions as unquantifiable.
The party gave the commendation in a Workers’ Day statement issued on Friday by its Chairman, Mr Cornelius Ojelabi.
Ojelabi said Workers’ Day remained a time to honour labour, recognise sacrifices and reaffirm the importance of fair and dignified work conditions.
“Workers’ Day is a moment to honour and celebrate the invaluable contributions of workers and labourers across Lagos and Nigeria. It is a time to recognise their sacrifices, achievements, and the enduring importance of fair and dignified labour practices. On this Workers’ Day, I extend my deepest appreciation to all workers across Lagos for their dedication and hard work,” he said.
He described workers as the driving force of the state’s economy and growth.
“You are the lifeblood of this great state, sustaining its reputation as resilient, dynamic and full of promise. Since the dawn of our democracy, you have remained the backbone of every milestone and progress we celebrate. Your commitment continues to keep Lagos moving and thriving as a centre of excellence,” he said.
Ojelabi also lauded the role of workers in national development under the current administration.
“Across the nation, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, workers continue to play a central role in driving growth and stability. In Lagos, under Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, their efforts have helped position the state as a beacon of progress and national pride. As an APC-led government, we remain committed to prompt payment of wages and improved labour standards,” he said.
The chairman commended Lagos workers for their resilience and belief in progress.
“I especially commend all Lagos workers, youths, women and men, for your resilience and unwavering dedication. Your contributions to the economy and society remain immeasurable, and your support inspires confidence in a brighter future. Together, we will continue to build a stable, prosperous Lagos and a stronger Nigeria,” he said.
