Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has secured the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.
NAN reports that Yusuf was adopted unopposed following a stakeholders’ meeting held in Katsina on April 28.
The consensus agreement was announced by the Chairman of the committee for Daura Zone, Ahmed Dangiwa.
The adoption followed consultations among party leaders and stakeholders in the area.
Speaking after the announcement, the APC Chairman of Mai’adua Local Government, Mannir Musa, called on members to accept the outcome.
“We should all work together for the unity and progress of the party and our people,” he said.
He also appealed to Governor Dikko Radda to support aspirants who did not secure tickets.
Musa disclosed that other candidates emerged through consensus, including Nasir Yahaya for the Daura senatorial race and Mustapha Musa for the Mai’adua constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly.
In his remarks, Yusuf Buhari expressed appreciation to party members for their support.
He pledged to provide quality representation to his constituents if elected in the 2027 general elections.
