How To Earn & Use Pawn Badges
Like most mechanics in Dragon’s Dogma 2, Pawn Badges are a poorly explained part of the game. When players first start engaging with the Pawn quest mechanic, they’ll come across the option to earn Pawn badges by putting up rewards.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: 15 Best Weapons In The Game
Choosing the best weapons in any game is hard. We scoured the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 to present to you the best weapons available in the game.
Players in this situation might ask themselves, what’s the point of badges? Do they make your Pawns stronger, faster, or better prepared? Here’s the breakdown.
How To Get Pawn Badges
Pawn Badges are obtained by any Pawn who participates in a certain activity, either monster slaying or camping in certain locations. Badges can be earned in both a Pawn’s home world and when they’re hired by other Arisen and visit other worlds.
The fastest way to get Pawn badges is to set a Pawn quest related to Pawn badges, ensuring that if your Pawn does get hired by someone, they’re incentivized to help them earn their badges. Setting a 10,000 Gold reward is a surefire way of ensuring this happens.
Types Of Pawn Badges
There are two types of badges:
- Monster Badges: Defeating a boss monster a certain number of times.
- Field Badges: Camping in an area a certain number of times.
Camping at the same campsite multiple times in succession doesn’t work; you need to find and rest at different campsites to increase the badge count.
You can only set a Pawn task to earn a monster or field badge if you’ve already defeated the monster at least once or camped in an area at least once. This means you can’t ask someone to help your Pawn kill Chimeras if you haven’t beaten one yourself first.

How To Use Pawn Badges
Now, you might be wondering what’s the benefit of earning Pawn badges. It doesn’t say it makes your pawns stronger in any way and it doesn’t give any material rewards.
Once a Pawn earns a badge, they gain incredible insight into that specific aspect of the game. They’ll offer insightful advice, like pointing out a difficult enemy’s biggest weakness with extreme accuracy if they have the Pawn badge for that monster.
If they have a field badge in a certain area, they’ll have a keener eye for valuables like chests and harvestable materials as well as Seeker’s Tokens to help you out.
Getting your Pawn up to speed is key to getting them hired. If you’re having no luck getting other Arisen to bring your Pawn along their journey, consider reading our pawns tips and tricks article and our best early game equipment guide.
