Elba’s comments suggest that, despite finding it difficult to deliver his lines without breaking, he enjoyed his stint on The Office. However, it is far from the Thor actor’s only foray into comedy, as he created the comedy-drama In the Long Run in 2018 and co-created the comedy Turn Up Charlie the next year.
Though Elba is predominantly a dramatic actor, currently starring in the thriller series Hijack on Apple TV+, he has shown himself to be a versatile star, capable of embracing comedic parts just as easily. With a recent role as Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, as well as the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and TV spinoff Knuckles, Elba remains open to less dramatic roles, which could lead to more comedy moving forward.
