We Will Increase Military Pressure on Hamas – Netanyahu Reveals

In an effort to secure the release of hostages detained in Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that his country will step up military pressure on the militant Palestinian organisation Hamas.

According to the army, Rafah was the location of some of the hostages taken from southern Israel during the October 7 invasion by Hamas, which started the conflict.

Netanyahu has declared again and again that the army will launch a military attack on Rafah, a southern Gaza city that has been spared an Israeli invasion and is home to almost 1.5 million Palestinians despite widespread international criticism.

Nonetheless, Netanyahu declared in a video speech on the eve of the Jewish holiday of Passover, “We will step up political and military pressure on Hamas in the coming days because this is the only way to free our hostages,”

Without giving more details, he vowed to “deliver additional and painful blows.”

Later on Sunday, in a televised announcement, military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated that “the chief of staff has approved the next steps for the war,” without providing any further information.

In his words,“On Passover, it will be 200 days of captivity for the hostages… We will fight until you return home to us.”
