YEN begs organisers to dialogue with government

The Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YEN) has appealed to Nigerian youth to reconsider the planned nationwide protest scheduled to start tomorrow.

Chairman of the group, Mr. Chris Kohol, backed by the grand patron, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, urged citizens to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu more time to address the country’s economic challenges.

Speaking during a world press conference, Kohol acknowledged the frustrations driving the call for protest but highlighted the potential for economic sabotage and national instability that such actions could incite.

“President Tinubu is barely fourteen months in office. While the desire for immediate change is understandable, we must also consider the long-term benefits of his economic reforms,” he said.

He added that the protest could lead to chaos, destruction of property and loss of lives, which is not in the best interest of the nation.

He urged all stakeholders, including civil rights activists, political leaders, and the broader community, to support the administration’s efforts and work collaboratively towards constructive solutions.

“Young entrepreneurs and youth have a critical role to play in shaping Nigeria’s economic future.

“Let us channel our energies into building innovative solutions, creating jobs, and driving growth. Together, we can make a difference,” Kohol stated.
