The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, has picked up the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, formally signaling the start of the President’s 2027 re-election bid.

Faleke collected the forms, valued at N100 million, on Tuesday in Abuja after the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, declared the process open and presented the forms to him.

Faleke, who is also the founder of the Tinubu Support Groups, said the move underscores growing support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

The development marks a major step in the build-up to the 2027 presidential election, with Tinubu now effectively entering the race.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed the Presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will hold on February 6, 2027.

INEC also said party primaries, including the resolution of disputes, will run from April 23 to May 30, 2026.

According to the commission, campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections will begin on August 19, 2026, while campaigns for governorship and state assembly polls will commence on September 9, 2026.
