The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rejected a result slip circulating online which claims that a candidate from Cross River State scored 394 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
TheTimes Nigeria reports that the result gained attention after it was posted on social media, where it was said that a female candidate identified as Okon Winniefred Sampson scored near-perfect marks across four subjects in the exam.
Reacting to the development on Sunday, the board, through its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, stated that the result is not genuine and should be ignored by the public.
He explained that the document being shared does not match the format used by the examination body. According to him, UTME results are not designed for printing or wide circulation, as candidates can only check them through official platforms.
Benjamin also pointed out that the registration number seen on the result slip does not follow the pattern used by the board. He said this, along with other visible errors on the document, shows that the result was created falsely.
The board warned that such misleading information can confuse the public and advised Nigerians to always confirm exam results through approved channels.
It maintained that all UTME results for now remain accessible only through official viewing methods and not as downloadable or shareable slips.
