The Nollywood industry is in mourning following the sudden death of veteran actor Solomon Akiyesi, who reportedly passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday.
According to reports, Akiyesi slept on Sunday night and did not wake up the following day. His wife confirmed the sad news to family and close associates.
Leaders of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), both past and present, have acknowledged the tragic development and publicly expressed their condolences.
Akiyesi was known for his roles in several popular films, including Desperate Ladies, Pretty Liars, Bridge of Contract, and Heart of a Saint, among others. He built a career spanning many years as an actor, director, and entrepreneur.
Tributes have begun pouring in from colleagues and fans across the industry, remembering him for his contributions to Nollywood and his roots in Ososo, Akoko-Edo.
Details about his burial arrangements are yet to be announced by the family.
