Former Adamawa governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Aishatu Binani, has defected to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), marking yet another dramatic political realignment ahead of the 2027 elections.
Binani announced her latest move on Friday in Adamawa, adding to a series of party switches that have followed her fallout with APC leadership in the state.

The former senator had earlier left the APC in July 2025 for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after a prolonged internal dispute. However, her stay in the ADC was short-lived, as fresh cracks reportedly emerged over disagreements surrounding party congresses.

By April 2026, tensions within the ADC escalated, with reports indicating that a faction loyal to Binani exited the party, paving the way for her latest defection.
