Media entrepreneur and publisher, Dele Momodu, has firmly refuted reports suggesting he plans to run as Vice Presidential candidate alongside former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in 2027.
Momodu described the circulating poster and rumours as a “joke designed to distract us” and urged his friends and party members to ignore it.
“I’m not running for any race again,” he declared. “I will be most grateful if my friends and party members can do me the honour of ignoring this joke.”
The Ovation publisher stated that his focus is on supporting a coalition of opposition political parties to unseat what he described as the “incompetent” APC-led government in 2027.
“I’m interested in humbly supporting the coalition of political parties, to work together and oust the incompetent APC government,” Momodu said.
He added that he is ready to support any capable candidate that emerges from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), noting that the party has more than enough qualified leaders to contest the presidential election.
Momodu also criticised what he called the “bullying” of Atiku Abubakar, reminding critics that Peter Obi had previously run as Atiku’s running mate in 2019.
His comments come amid ongoing efforts by opposition figures to build a strong coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
