Tension erupted in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State after three persons suspected of killing a traditional ruler were set ablaze by an angry mob. The suspects were reportedly linked to the murder of the monarch of Kwallak community.
Three persons suspected to be involved in the killing of a traditional ruler in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State were on Friday night burnt to death by an angry mob.

The suspects were accused of murdering the traditional ruler of Kwallak community, identified as Ponzhi Kwallak.
According to residents, the monarch was attacked and killed inside his residence on Thursday night after assailants allegedly invaded his home and stole his motorcycle, mobile phone, and other valuables.
The killing reportedly threw the community into grief and heightened tension, leading to a search for those responsible.
Sources said the three suspects were later arrested while trying to sell the stolen motorcycle believed to belong to the late monarch.
During questioning by residents, the suspects were said to have confessed to the crime.
A witness said some youths initially wanted to hand the suspects over to security operatives before another group overpowered them.
The source said: “Members of the community caught the suspects where they wanted to sell the motorcycle and they confessed to the crime before the angry mob descended on them and burnt them.”
The suspects were reportedly set ablaze near the council secretariat.
As of the time of filing this report, the Plateau State Police Command had not released an official statement on the incident.
The development has renewed concerns over rising cases of mob justice and insecurity in parts of the state.
