The 60-year-old coach now joins a respected panel of football minds tasked with analyzing matches, identifying tactical innovations, and studying trends in the modern game.
Reports say Postecoglou officially began work earlier this year, joining notable names such as Gareth Southgate, Roberto Martinez, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
One of his recent assignments saw him attend Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield.
Although Liverpool suffered a 2-0 defeat and exited the competition, Postecoglou’s report focused on the tactical side of the contest, especially the defensive structure used by Arne Slot’s side.
He explained that Liverpool maintained their shape before switching into aggressive man-for-man pressing when the trigger came.
Postecoglou said: “Liverpool’s approach was that, ‘We’ll keep our shape but, within that shape, we’ll then go man-for-man once the press is instigated.’”
He added that many people misunderstand man-marking systems, noting that Liverpool’s setup still had a zonal element based on player positions.
The former Spurs boss also praised midfielders Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai for their work rate and ability to shut down central spaces.
According to the report, the duo helped limit PSG’s usual control in midfield.
However, PSG manager Luis Enrique was also credited for adjusting tactics by using a more direct approach to beat Liverpool’s press.
